Who will be working with you on your book?
The Gipping Press Ltd – book printing team is 13 strong and each member of staff has his own area of expertise, whether it is running a printing press, design and layout or accounts. As a result the whole team may work on your book but at some point the people you are likely to have direct contact with throughout the process are:
Danny Cuff – Customer Services Director
Danny works tirelessly to be the face of Gipping Press and to ensure that your brief and expectations are accurately related to the design and production team. It is highly likely that Danny will be your primary point of contact throughout the production process. This can be in person if you are close enough to visit, or via virtual meeting if you are elsewhere in the country.
Jonathan Steed – Director
Jonathan joined the Gipping Press team in 2008 as a graphic designer, becoming General Manager in 2011 and Managing Director in 2014. In 2021, following internal restructuring during the Covid pandemic, Jonathan returned to his roots, using his core skills in our studio.
Joe Cook – Studio Technician
Joe joined us straight from leaving high school in 2015. He very quickly adapted to life in the design studio and has gained experience across the production platform. Having completed his apprenticeship he has become an accomplished member of our team and is able to turn his hand to any task relating to design, layout and preparation of files for printing.
Greg Ruffell – Production Director
Greg has more than 30 years experience and his broad knowledge of print makes him the perfect candidate to manage production. All book production, from design to delivery, is overseen by Danny, Jonathan, Joe and Greg.
About Gipping Press Ltd
Gipping Press Ltd started in 1980 in Mid Suffolk. The original owner, Mike Truscott, retired from the Royal Air Force base nearby and set up the company. 2 years later we moved to our current premises in Needham Market. We have been based here for over 40 years providing a range of print and design services to thousands of customers. Easily accessible to London and the South East, the Midlands and the North of England. We are well placed to serve the whole UK.
Over the years we have grown, investing in staff and equipment to improve our efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Nearly a decade ago we moved into a second industrial unit next door to our original factory. Since then we joined forces with Swaingrove Ltd from Rougham, near Bury St Edmunds and during 2022 we also purchased Brackenbury Design & Print from Ipswich. This growth by acquisition has allowed us to develop our services and the skills offered, and to strengthen our position in the market.

Recent Times
During recent years we have invested heavily in digital printing and finishing equipment to enable us to print books more efficiently and we’ve continued our recruitment to strengthen our team. Gipping Press Ltd works with individuals, clubs, societies, charities, religious organisations, local authorities and businesses in book production.
